Articles of Faith

We believe in God the Father Almighty, maker and sustainer of heaven and earth. We believe Jesus, the Son of God was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilot, was crucified, dead and buried. We believe Jesus rose from the dead on the third day, He ascended on high, and now sits on the right hand of the Majesty; from there He shall come and rapture His Bride, the Church, who shall live and reign with Him eternally. We believe in the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance. We believe in water Baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins. We believe in the communion of saints, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. We believe the Holy Bible is the living word of God. We believe we can do what it has empowered us to do. We believe we have become through Christ, what it says we are and We believe we have already received everything according to the promise by faith in Christ Jesus our Lord, AMEN!

Biography, Bishop Roy J. Lisath, Pastor

Bishop Roy Jesse Lisath was ordained under the leadership of Greater Emmanuel International Fellowship of Churches and Ministries at the 1994 Holy Convocation, by Bishop Quander L. Wilson and the College of Bishops. During this time, he was being mentored by Bishop Thomas A. Burns of Hope Christian Church and in 1996 Bishop R.J. Lisath was appointed Assistant Pastor to Bishop Burns holding that position throughout the next five years.

In 2001, with God’s hand, Pastor Lisath felt the call of the Lord. After consultation with Bishop Quander L Wilson, Bishop Thomas A. Burns and Bishop Roy B Lisath, he was installed as Pastor of Grace and Mercy Fellowship Center, a new work founded through Christ by Bishop Roy Jesse Lisath.

As the Pastor of Grace and Mercy Fellowship Center, (GMFC) Bishop R J. Lisath was blessed in many ways. In 2002, Bishop R.J. Lisath and the GMFC family expanded their ministry to include “The Walk in Truth Radio Broadcast,” which was broadcast on AM and FM radio.

Pastor Lisath is dedicated to many outreach programs near and far. The GMFC family has shared God’s love and has made an international impact through offering prayers and monetary giving to missionaries in Africa, yearly participation in the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child and instituting an outreach mail correspondence program with several men currently incarcerated. Bishop R.J. Lisath was also frequently called upon to minister in some of the area hospitals for patients who were seeking spiritual direction.

Bishop R.J. Lisath felt the urging of God to merge the GMFC family under the leadership of the Presiding Prelate, Bishop Edward E. Shouse, Sr. and work under Bishop Shouse to assist in anyway needed. After prayer and consultation with Bishop Shouse and others, Bishop R.J. Lisath did just as God directed and served under Bishop Shouse for 7 years.

The voice of the Lord directed Bishop Shouse to release Bishop R.J. Lisath back into the Pastoral field of service and stated, “God said this was the time and season” for Bishop R.J. Lisath to carry the vision of GMFC further. After prayer and consultation, Bishop Shouse released Bishop R.J. Lisath with his blessing. Bishop R.J. Lisath sought God’s direction and re-established the work God founded through him and on July 3, 2011, reopened Grace and Mercy Fellowship Center. Bishop R.J. Lisath has been blessed by God to have his father and mother, Bishop Roy B. Lisath and Lady Maria Lisath, stand with him in the reopening of this work. Bishop R.J. Lisath is committed to the call of God, the healing and deliverance of God’s people and the ministering of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out devils…they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover!” This scripture is being fulfilled through the work of the Lord at GFMC as evident by the testimony of His people.

In addition to Bishop R.J. Lisath’ pastoral responsibilities, he has been employed with the City of Columbus Police Department for the last twenty years. During his career as a police officer, Bishop R.J. Lisath has served the City of Columbus in other duties such as a Field Training Officer, (FTO) training Police Recruits from the academy and has participated on the Employee Action Review Committee, which reviews employee files for officers potentially at high-risk of “improper” behavior. Bishop R.J. Lisath was integral in the development and training of a new official report system, this has become the standard for other police agencies throughout Ohio and the nation. Among receiving several medals and commendations, Bishop R.J. Lisath was awarded the Silver Cross for bravery going above and beyond the call of duty putting his own life at great risk to save another, and again on another occasion saving the life of a female suicide jumper. Bishop R.J. Lisath was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on July 13, 2007 and now leads the PoliceNET Unit within the Division of Police.

Twenty-six years ago, Bishop R.J. Lisath married his high school sweetheart, Stephanie Mylo Lisath and they have two sons Jeremiah Royce, 23 and Noah Isaiah, 20.
