Articles of Faith

We believe in God the Father Almighty, maker and sustainer of heaven and earth. We believe Jesus, the Son of God was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilot, was crucified, dead and buried. We believe Jesus rose from the dead on the third day, He ascended on high, and now sits on the right hand of the Majesty; from there He shall come and rapture His Bride, the Church, who shall live and reign with Him eternally. We believe in the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance. We believe in water Baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins. We believe in the communion of saints, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. We believe the Holy Bible is the living word of God. We believe we can do what it has empowered us to do. We believe we have become through Christ, what it says we are and We believe we have already received everything according to the promise by faith in Christ Jesus our Lord, AMEN!

Biography

Bishop Roy J. Lisath, Pastor & History of Grace & Mercy Fellowship Center

Bishop Roy Jesse Lisath was ordained under the leadership of Greater Emmanuel International Fellowship of Churches & Ministries at the 1994 Holy Convocation, by Bishop Quander L. Wilson and the College of Bishops. During this time, he was being mentored by Bishop Thomas A. Burns of Hope Christian Church and in 1996 Bishop R.J. Lisath was appointed Assistant Pastor to Bishop Burns holding that position throughout the next five years.

In 2001, with God’s hand, Pastor Lisath felt the call of the Lord. After consultation with Bishop Quander L Wilson, Bishop Thomas A. Burns and Bishop Roy B Lisath, he was installed as Pastor of Grace and Mercy Fellowship Center, a new work founded through Christ by Bishop Roy Jesse Lisath. As Pastor of GMFC he was blessed in many ways to include weekly radio ministry, “The Walk in Truth Broadcast,” on AM and FM radio. In 2004, Bishop R.J. Lisath felt the urging of God to merge the GMFC family under the leadership of the Presiding Prelate, Bishop Edward E. Shouse, Sr. and work under Bishop Shouse to assist in anyway needed. After much prayer and consultation, Bishop R.J. Lisath did just as God directed and served under Bishop Shouse for 7 years. In July 2007, Bishop R.J. Lisath was elevated to the office bishopric.

The voice of the Lord directed Bishop Shouse to release Bishop R.J. Lisath back into the Pastoral field of service and told him God said this was the time and season for Bishop R.J. Lisath to carry the vision of GMFC further. After prayer and consultation, Bishop Shouse released Bishop R.J. Lisath with his blessing. Bishop R.J. Lisath sought God’s direction and re-established the work God founded through him and on July 3, 2011, reopened Grace and Mercy Fellowship Center. Bishop R.J. Lisath was blessed by God to have had his father, the late Bishop Roy B. Lisath, stand with him in the reopening of this work, but forever grateful to have his mother, Lady Maria Lisath still standing with him. Bishop R.J. Lisath is committed to the call of God, the healing and deliverance of God’s people and the ministering of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As such, in early 2022 Bishop R.J. Lisath created GMFC Studios an online ministry, which also hosts “Coffee with the Bishop,” deep conversations for Christ with real people, dealing with real issues in today’s culture. This ministry spans across the globe touching God’s people right where they are. Furthermore, Bishop Lisath serves as the Senior Vice Bishop and Comptroller of the Greater Emmanuel Fellowship International organization, headquartered in Columbus, OH and led by Presiding Prelate, Bishop Edward E. Shouse Sr. D.D. Bishop Lisath is responsible for managing all the ministries and finances within the organization.

In addition to Bishop Lisath’s pastoral responsibilities, he has been employed with the City of Columbus Police Department for the last twenty-eight years and since 2007 holds the rank of Police Sergeant. In addition to his police responsibilities, Sergeant Lisath is one of nine Chaplains for the Columbus Division of Police and oversees the Chaplaincy Program. Among receiving several medals and commendations throughout his career, Sergeant Lisath was awarded the “Silver Cross” for bravery going above and beyond the call of duty to save the life of a drowning person.

Thirty-two years ago, Bishop R.J. Lisath married his high school sweetheart, Stephanie Mylo Lisath and they have two adult sons Jeremiah, 29 and Noah, 26.
